Mantras

The power of the mantras are, among other aspects, rooted in the beeja sounds and should thus be pronounced in line with Vedic teachings for the psychobiological effect to be felt and for their specificity. Mantras have the ability to heal, to teach, to shift the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual state and are an important part of daily rituals. They also tune the body toward its essential purpose, peace, gratitude, and orientation toward receiving and opening to the blessings, knowledge, support, and connection to the subtle world of nature, our ancestors, and to the vast unknown with a grateful and open heart.

Sound is an important aspect of healing, resonating, and regulating the nervous system. Sound is one of the subtle sensory impressions that links closely to the Vata, the mind, and consciousness. There is plenty of research now, again proving the effectiveness of sound for healing. The modalities utilising sound don't end at the Mantras in the Vedic sciences, and the healing aspect of sound is only the surface of the context, application, medicinal quality, and depth of knowledge that is a part of this vast section of Vedic knowledge. There are beeja sounds, mantras, singing, sol kattu, pranayama utilising vocalisation, and much more, and they are intimately linked with the profound mathematical systems. As my teacher Vaidya. Jayarajan Kodikannath states: Ayurveda is an ocean. One soon sees that truly to go down one stream leads to a river, which leads to a vast ocean of study, such is the case with mantras as well. May we always keep a learning heart.
