NOURISH Ayurveda Nutrition Yoga, recognises its current existence on traditional lands and includes this in its respectful awareness and conscience.

London, Ontario, is situated on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron peoples. This land is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties, specifically Treaty 6 (the London Township Treaty of 1796), and is connected to the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Covenant—an agreement to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.

Today, London continues to be home to a diverse population of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, including neighboring nations:

  • Deshkan Ziibiing (Chippewas of the Thames First Nation)

  • Oneida Nation of the Thames

  • Munsee-Delaware Nation

We acknowledge the historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous peoples and recognize our collective responsibility to honor the land, uphold treaty obligations, and actively support truth, reconciliation, and Indigenous sovereignty.

  • Deshkan Ziibiing (Desh-kan Zee-bing): The Ojibwe/Anishinaabemowin name for the area, meaning "Antler River" (referring to the Thames River).

  • Dish With One Spoon: An indigenous diplomatic concept representing shared stewardship—taking only what is needed, leaving enough for others, and keeping the land clean.

  • Treaty 6 (1796): The agreement signed between the Chiefs of the Chippewas and the British Crown conveying land in present-day London and surrounding townships.
