Gond Ladoos with Dates and Fig for Postpartum

This gorgeous recipe came thanks to Hebbars Kitchen, and it is full of goodness for Postpartum. I did add in a little extra step for the almonds to make them more moist and easier on the digestion.

As is often recommended in Ayurveda, almonds are best soaked overnight, then peeled. If you have had a fresh almond, you know how much of a difference this step makes. When eaten fresh, it becomes very clear as to why almonds are considered to be Ojas building. Soaking them helps to bring them back to their milky selves. This is especially important to do with almonds grown in the US that undergo a lengthy procedure to remove as much moisture as possible for ease of packaging and shelf life.
